BREMERTON — Marysville Pilchuck took Central Kitsap to a shootout but fell short in a first-round 3A state tournament loss.
Catrina Wright scored for the Tomahawks in regulation off an assist from Jessica Moskowitz, but the match ended tied at one.
Bianca Acuario and Dominique Jenkins converted their spot kicks for Marysville Pilchuck in the shootout.
“Twenty mile per hour gusts made it interesting,” Tomahawks coach Paul Bartley said. “I thought this match was played end-to-end with no team really dominating. It was a well-played soccer match. Our team steadily improved during the season and we bring back nine players next year that believe in our system. We look forward to competing next year for the Wesco 3A title.”
