The Seahawks made a handful of roster moves Monday.
First, Seattle claimed defensive tackle A.J. Francis off waivers from the Miami Dolphins. Francis, a 6-foot-5, 330-pounder who was undrafted out of Maryland in 2013, appeared in one game with the Dolphins this season. To make room on the 53-man roster the Seahawks released defensive tackle David King. King, signed off the Cincinnati Bengals’ practice squad last December, appeared in four games for Seattle this season. King missed Sunday’s 39-32 loss to the Arizona Cardinals because of a groin injury, so the move presumably gives the Seahawks a healthy option at defensive tackle.
Seattle also shuffled its practice squad around, signing fullback Brandon Cottom while releasing cornerback Kevin Short and tight end Harold Spears. The moves leave the Seahawks with one open spot on their practice squad.
