FLORENCE, Ore. — Police said a feud between two Oregon brothers has ended in a murder-suicide.
The Register-Guard reported that Florence Police Chief Tom Turner said 55-year-old resident Joseph Circle and his younger brother, 51-year-old Gary Circle of Dexter, got into an argument Sunday while trying to resolve a dispute about family property.
Police said Gary Circle walked out of his brother’s house, but Joseph Circle followed him, broke his truck window and shot him once in the head.
They said the elder brother walked back inside and shot himself in the head.
According to police, the incident woke up a family member who called 911 at 2:39 a.m.
Turner said it is Florence’s first murder in 23 years.
