Mount Baker Ski Area will open for the season on Thursday.
The ski area reported that it had 37 inches of snow at the base and 60 inches at the top of Pan Dome. Check out the snow report.
That’s the good news. The bad news is your trip up may be slightly slower than normal. After the recent storms, a section of Mount Baker Highway, Highway 542, is restricted to one lane. A stoplight will regulate the traffic in that section until the area is repaired. Check the WSDOT page.
Crystal Mountain could open on Friday, but it’s working on storm cleanup before making an official decision.
