We can’t afford them, in any way

I am adamantly opposed to bringing the unvetted Syrian and other “refugees” into our country and our state. There is no possible way they could have been “robustly vetted” by the federal government as the president’s spokesman claimed. Do you want these unvetted “refugees” in your neighborhood, in your schools? This immediately will change the quality of your children’s and grandchildren’s education as schools are forced to adapt to the new students who don’t speak our language or know our culture, what is acceptable and what is not. These families will be on food stamps for which we pay. They will put further burden on our food banks and welfare system and other areas of our federal, state and local budgets. We will pay for their housing. Where will it be? I doubt it will be in the neighborhoods of our elected officials who support this, but it could certainly be in mine. We will all pay for their medical needs. They will add to our already-strained health care system. We are not going to feel safe in our own communities!

This will add to the crushing debt for which future generations will pay. It is our duty and obligation to be their voice! They will have to live by the choices we make right now.

This is truly the fundamental transformation of our society the president promised. We citizens have not even been given a voice in consideration of this debacle. Our elected officials are our voice and I am telling them, the United States cannot afford this on any level!

There will be no second chance. Our country’s future depends on the actions they take right now. Soon it will be too late and none of us will recognize our own country. The beacon of light that was once the United States of America will be gone. All the social issues that concern people will not mean a thing.
