I am sure the recent Washington state Supreme Court ruling on how charter schools are in violation of the state constitution will prompt much discussion of the how this decision overturns the will of the people, as expressed in the majority of votes for charter schools initiatives. I am fairly sure many of those objecting to the decision also have voted for those initiatives which seek to impose a two-thirds supermajority requirement for new taxes, since a majority vote is not acceptable to them. I am also pretty certain any mother of a two-year-old will recognize the logical process required to reconcile these seemingly contradictory stances. As for myself, I’d like to think some have learned more than we knew at two.
