Recent letters relating to ISIS and Syrian refugees, along with the responses to them have pretty well covered all points of view on those issues. Still, I’ll offer a few random observations even though they’re not particularly relevant to the discussions.
1. A writer stated that our governor “was behind the door when they were passing out the brains” and proceeded to disparage everyone with whom she disagrees, telling them to “wake up.” Clearly, she would have had us believe that she is superior in awareness and intellect. That proved not to be that case, however. She was totally incapable of supporting her position with anything other than misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric. Chuckle at the hypocrisy!
2. A gentleman mentioned that mankind has had a choice between good and evil since Adam and Eve, thus indicating his acceptance of the Biblical account of creation as factual. The reality is that events related therein are scientifically impossible and an affront to logic and reason. He then essentially accused the president of denying reality by asserting that he doesn’t accept that evil exists. (Perhaps when Mr. Obama refers to ISIS as the “face of evil” he is being insincere?) Giggle at the irony.
3. Interestingly, another writer applauds this gentleman’s letter by saying that it was “well thought out, logical, articulate and right on target.” I beg to differ. Still, when facts don’t matter, it’s all just a matter of opinion. Of course, I could be wrong about everything.
