Convent festival
Convent of the Meeting of the Lord and its Quiet Light Candles Gift Shop holds its annual Christmas Festival through Dec. 24, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays at 29206 64th Ave. NW, Stanwood.

Tree lighting in Brier: Brier’s annual tree lighting is set for 6 p.m. Dec. 5 at Brier Park, 2903 228th St. SW. The Brier Elementary choir will perform. Santa and Mrs. Claus are expected, and Santa may play the bagpipes. There will be hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes. Attendees are asked to bring donations for a local food bank.
Geneaologists hold holiday program: Sno-Isle Genealogical Society’s next monthly meeting takes a holiday feel, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 2 at its research library, 19827 Poplar Way, in Lynnwood’s Heritage Park. Following the meeting, there will be a “Grandma’s Christmas Traditions” program, with guests and members invited to share stories of how their ancestors celebrated Christmas. Guests are welcome.
