Pearl Harbor ceremony
A ceremony to mark 74 years since the Pearl Harbor attacks on Dec. 7, 1941, is scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Snohomish County Courthouse campus at 3000 Rockefeller Ave. in Everett. There will be a color guard, wreath laying, prayer and song. The event is being put on by the Snohomish County Central Memorial Committee and is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Guests should gather at the eternal flame near the courthouse.
Leaders to take oath: Newly elected or re-elected officials in Lake Stevens are scheduled to take their oaths of office during the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lake Stevens School District Service Center, 12309 22nd St. NE. Everyone is invited to attend and welcome a new mayor along with new and returning city councilmembers. Next year’s mayor John Spencer, councilmen Kurt Hilt and Todd Welch and councilwoman Rauchel McDaniel are the ones being sworn into office.
Tour of Lights: The fifth annual Cedarcrest Golf Courts Holiday Tour of Lights starts Thursday and runs through Dec. 26. The Marysville Noon Rotary Train will take families on a 20-minute ride through holiday displays. Holiday music, hot chocolate and roasting marshmallows also is on the agenda. The Tour of Lights is open each evening from 6-9 p.m., and it will operate Thursday-Saturday and Dec. 17-19, plus Monday-Wednesday, Dec. 21-23. The Grand Finale tour will be held Dec. 26. The Christmas Eve tour is canceled this year.
The cost is free, but there is a suggested donation of $5 per adult, $3 for youth or $20 for a family. The golf course is at 6810 84th St. NE in Marysville.
