EVERETT — Two more arrests were made early Thursday in what detectives describe as the gang-related killing of an Everett-area teen.
The 16-year-old Everett boys were booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center in connection with Saturday’s fatal shooting of Anthony Camacho, 17.
They were ordered held on $2 million bail during a court hearing where a judge found probable cause exists to hold the pair for investigation of first-degree murder.
Because of the seriousness of the allegations, the pair will face adult prosecution in Snohomish County Superior Court.
“The two suspects were taken into custody without incident,” said Shari Ireton, spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. “Assistance in identifying and locating the suspects was provided by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force and the Everett Police Department.”
The shooting occurred at a party in the 12300 block of Fourth Place W, just south of Everett. The pair arrested Thursday join an Everett man who also is accused in the death.
Diego Tavares, 19, was arrested Monday for investigation of first-degree murder and has been ordered jailed on $2 million bail. He reportedly admitted involvement in Saturday’s killing, and said the violence was part of a gang rivalry.
“Witnesses report that Tavares fired the gun,” Ireton said.
One of the teens arrested Thursday drove Tavares to the party; the other provided him with the gun, deputy prosecutor Randy Yates told the judge.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has determined the victim died from a gunshot wound to the head. They reported his full name is Anthony Camacho Vergara.
The investigation continues, Ireton said.
