SPOKANE — The Nez Perce County sheriff’s office says an allegedly intoxicated man fell off cliff after driving off Idaho road and going for help.
KXLY-TV reported that a deputy patrolling the Lindsey Creek Road area around 11:45 p.m. Saturday noticed a vehicle that appeared to have crashed. After determining the vehicle had become stuck after driving off the road, but did not have any damage, the deputy started looking for the driver.
While searching, the Nez Perce County dispatch received a call from the driver of the car saying he left to get help and ended up falling off a cliff.
Deputies found the allegedly intoxicated 22-year-old man after a 20 minute search of the area.
Lewiston medics transported the man to a local hospital. Information on his condition was not immediately known. The sheriff’s office is investigating.
