Here are the offensive and defensive snap counts from the Seattle Seahawks’ 23-17 loss to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday (plays, percentage):
OFFENSE (72)
G Sweezy (72, 100)
T Bailey (72, 100)
G Britt (72, 100)
T Gilliam (72, 100)
C Lewis (72, 100)
QB Wilson (72, 100)
WR Baldwin (60, 83)
WE Kearse (53, 74)
TE Helfet (52, 72)
WR Lockett (50, 69)
RB Jackson (35, 49)
WR Smith (28, 39)
RB Michael (22, 31)
TE Willson (18, 25)
FB Tukuafu (15, 21)
RB Brown (11, 15)
WR Williams (10, 14)
C Jeanpierre (5, 7)
FB Coleman (1, 1)
Notable: The concussion suffered by Luke Willson meant a heavy number of snaps for Cooper Helfet, as he was the only other tight end active Sunday. With the running game largely stuffed, Fred Jackson received the bulk of the snaps at running back as Seattle committed to the pass. Tyler Lockett saw a slight decline in snaps because he had to go back to the locker room briefly to get checked out for a concussion of his own. Jeanpierre’s snaps came as a blocking tight end.
DEFENSE (53)
SS McCray (53, 100)
CB Sherman (53, 100)
LB Wagner (53, 100)
FS Thomas (53, 100)
LB Wright (53, 100)
DE Bennett (49, 92)
CB Lane (46, 87)
DE Avril (46, 87)
DT Mebane (42, 79)
DT Rubin (40, 75)
LB Irvin (35, 66)
CB Shead (32, 60)
DE Clark (11, 21)
DE Marsh (7, 13)
DE Dobbs (6, 11)
LB Morgan (4, 8)
Notable: Seattle went with its starters on the defensive line more than usual, particularly inside with Brandon Mebane and Ahtyba Rubin, who have been playing fewer than half the snaps in recent weeks. That would presumably be a result of expecting St. Louis to concentrate on running the ball. Jeremy Lane received most of the snaps as the second cornerback, though he and DeShawn Shead did rotate through the game.
