While the main talk of the day surrounding injured Seahawks concerned running back Marshawn Lynch, Seattle has several other key players who are dealing with knocks.
The biggest news out of Wednesday was that defensive end Michael Bennett had to undergo an injection procedure on his injured big toe. Bennett has been playing through the injury in recent weeks. Coach Pete Carroll said he didn’t know yet whether the procedure would allow Bennett to play in Sunday’s regular season finale at Arizona, or whether Bennett would be rested for the playoffs.
Among others:
– Tackle Russell Okung, who missed Sunday’s 23-17 loss to St. Louis because of a calf injury, participated in walkthrough Wednesday morning. Carroll said Okung was on his way back, suggesting there’s a good chance Okung will play this Sunday.
– Strong safety Kam Chancellor, who missed the past two games because of a bruised tailbone, did not take part in walkthrough Wednesday morning. Carroll described Chancellor as day-to-day, and his status for this Sunday’s game is unknown.
– Tight end Luke Willson, who suffered a concussion last Sunday, remains in the concussion protocol, making his availability for this Sunday unknown. However, Carroll said Willson was making progress.
