EVERETT — A young woman was burned Thursday in a fire that broke out in a bikini barista stand along Everett Mall Way.
The woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She was able to walk herself to a gurney, officials said.
The fire was reported about 4:45 p.m. It apparently spread from the stand to a nearby car, Everett Assistant Fire Marshal Eric Hicks said. The Sinners and Saints Coffee Co. stand, a temporary building, was destroyed.
Witnesses reported explosions, which may have been the car’s tires, Hicks said. The investigation was just getting started, he said.
Fire officials were waiting to interview the woman Thursday evening.
