SNOHOMISH — City clerk Torchie Corey has retired after 21 years of service to Snohomish.
Human Resources manager Pat Adams took on the clerk’s duties in January.
The City Council combined the two jobs in December. It is expected to save Snohomish $120,000 in 2016.
Corey started with the city as a meter reader and utility clerk in 1994. She was promoted in 1999 to administration and finance manager.
Corey served as city clerk for the past 12 years, filling public records requests and attending almost 300 council meetings during her tenure.
Adams temporarily worked in the city clerk’s office and was hired in 1995 as an administrative secretary. In 1999, she took on some human resources duties while assisting the city manager.
Adams has served as human resources manager since 2002.
