Celebrate MLK
A Martin Luther King Jr. celebration is set for 3 p.m. Sunday at Everett Community College in Baker Hall, Room 120. The theme is “The Dream Alive Today For Tomorrow.” The keynote speaker is Toyia Taylor, founder of a performing arts company. The event is open to everyone and features a gospel choir.
It is organized by the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee.
Monroe shows Seahawks spirit: The city is hosting a Seattle Seahawk rally at Lake Tye Park from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
The free event is expected to include Seahawks’ mascot Blitz, the Sea Gals, Blue Thunder and team alumni. The Seahawks face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

Financial aid information: Monroe High School will hold a scholarship, FAFSA and WAFSA information night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the high school, 17001 Tester Road.
Learn about financial aid requirements and scholarship opportunities, including local grants and the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship. The Opportunity Scholarship helps low- and middle-income state residents earn their bachelor’s degrees in the high-demand fields of science, technology, engineering, math and health care.
