State parks won’t require a Discover Pass for parking Sunday and Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
On Monday, all national parks will waive their entrance fee. Around here that means Mount Rainier National Park and Olympic National Park. North Cascades National Park is always free.
Additionally, a Northwest Forest Pass won’t be required on Monday to use Forest Service trailheads and other areas that usually require a pass.
Finally, national wildlife refuges will also be free on Monday. The closest refuges to Snohomish County that charge fees are Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge and Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Get more info at www.fws.gov/refuges.
