In response to David Rash’s guest commentary, “There are no climate deniers, only skeptics of doomsayers”: The writer states that over the past several hundred years the Earth has experienced vastly long cold periods known as ice ages, interrupted by very short spikes of warming. Naturally occurring, not man made. The harm we are doing to the Earth is not natural and we are the ones causing it. Man is by nature a natural liar.
The environmental harms we have done to the Earth are all connected and we are the guilty. We have poisoned all the surfaces of the world. We cut down too many trees and have taken too much land. We have made the money like water, and for over a billion people it is Christmas every day. This causes us to, every day, cut down more land to ever build more temples of consumption. We take what is under the Earth, putting it on top of the Earth, destroying the planet. Man is a natural liar. Our systems are failing and many do not want to see this.
At the end of the commentary, Rash says, “Nature abides and there is little humanity can or should do about it but enjoy the ride.” This is a lie and for a surety, we are going to pay for this! Mankind does not like change; but, if we don’t, it will be done to us. There is nothing more important than life itself. This is what we stand to lose and it is the people who are guilty.
