Overnight I-5 closures
I-5 will be closed overnight this week for construction crews doing girder work on the 116th Street overpass in the Marysville-Tulalip area. The 116th Street off-ramps and on-ramps in both directions will be usable as a bypass during the closure periods. Northbound I-5 closes from 11:59 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday to Tuesday and Tuesday to Wednesday. Southbound I-5 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Wednesday to Thursday and Thursday to Friday. Financial aid advice: The Lake Stevens School District is hosting a financial aid night for students and parents Thursday in the Lake Stevens High School Performing Arts Center, 2908 113th Ave NE. It starts at 6 p.m. and is free. A guest from Everett Community College plans to talk about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). High school counselors will be on hand afterward to help families fill out the student aid forms. Parents and students should bring tax information from 2014 and 2015.
Everett seeks grant applications: Everett is accepting Hotel Motel Tax Fund applications through 5 p.m. Feb. 1. The grant money is intended for public and nonprofit organizations working on projects that develop and promote tourism in Everett.
