MUKILTEO — A hearing about whether to approve a 112-home subdivision in the unincorporated Picnic Point area has been rescheduled over the week of Feb. 29 and the following week.
Snohomish County Hearing Examiner Peter Camp scheduled five days of testimony on the Frognal Estates project with one night session.
A bloc from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 29 is set aside to hear public comments.
Camp cancelled hearings scheduled for the week of Jan. 11 because county planning staff had failed to notify some nearby landowners.
The 22-acre Frognal Estates site is near Picnic Point Elementary School. It’s the last large undeveloped tract in Mukilteo’s urban growth area and could one day be annexed by the city.
The Picnic Point Preservation Committee, a neighborhood group, is challenging the project over concerns such as landslide risks, stormwater runoff and traffic.
Representatives from the developer, Integral Northwest, of Everett, contend they have adequately designed the project to account for those impacts.
