SPOKANE VALLEY — Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman who died Monday at her home in Spokane Valley.
KREM-TV reported Spokane Valley deputies responded to a 911 call Monday morning from a man who said his wife had been accidentally shot in their home.
Documents say the man, who is a Lincoln County reserve deputy, and his daughter drove the woman to a hospital where she later was pronounced dead of a gunshot wound to the chest.
The man told detectives his wife was shot accidentally while he was cleaning a new gun they had been having problems with the day before.
No arrests have been made in connection with the death.
