SEATTLE — A Tulalip man was convicted of assault Thursday in U.S. District Court in Seattle.
Brian H. Jones, Sr., 46, attacked his ex-wife and her husband in December 2014 and attacked her again in April 2015, that time trying to strangle her. He also was convicted of witness tampering for telling the woman to refuse to testify and to recant her statements to investigators.
A jury delivered the verdict after a six-day trial, according to a Department of Justice press release.
Jones has been in a federal lockup since June 3. Sentencing is scheduled for May 6. He could be sentenced to decades in prison. Jones already was a felon and also faces time for illegal gun possession.
