EVERETT — An emergency ordinance that would put a moratorium on new marijuana businesses opening in Everett has been pulled from Wednesday’s Everett City Council agenda.
One or more council members will be absent that day, and the decision was made to postpone any action until the full council could assemble to discuss the measure.
The potential moratorium is being debated because the state is believed likely to raise the cap on the number of shops that could operate in Everett from five to 10.
The measure is likely to be on the council’s agenda Feb. 3, although the agenda has not been finalized.
