Regarding the article, “With $11 prize, seniors’ pinochle has to go underground”: This state and our community has some serious issues that need attention. Yet there is taxpayer money for valuable resources being diverted toward denying seniors the opportunity to play penny ante pinochle.
It’s not the gambling commission’s fault. They are required to carry out the law as written.
This state can ignore a federal law pertaining to marijuana. Be aware, however, of those seniors playing pinochle for chump change. They can be a danger to society.
A reminder to our esteemed lawmakers: Seniors vote.
