MORTON — A Morton teacher who was jailed and fired for inappropriately touching female students is due back in class when school starts Monday at Morton Junior-Senior High School.
The Olympian reports some parents already have withdrawn their students from the history class taught by Michael Moulton.
Superintendent Tom Manke said it’s frustrating to have Moulton back.
The 56-year-old won an appeal of his firing in March. He had pleaded guilty last year by Alford plea on charges of inappropriately touching four girls in 2008. He served 20 days in the Lewis County Jail.
Moulton didn’t admit guilt with the Alford plea but agreed he would likely be convicted. He said the unwelcome touchings were pats meant as encouragement for good work.
