BREMERTON — About 500 workers will lose their jobs following an announcement that a Bremerton call center is shutting down its operations.
The Kitsap Sun reported that the employees of Concentrix call center were notified of the changes this week. Spokeswoman Jyllene Miller said the company will leave the customer service facility March 28 because of business changes being made by the center’s corporate client. She declined to name the client, citing a confidentiality agreement.
As the company shuts down its operations at the facility, Miller said it is adding more positions that will allow employees to work from home. She said the displaced workers will be given priority for the 100 at-home positions.
The Bremerton call center has been one of Kitsap County’s largest private employers since its opening in 2001.
