EVERETT — The Everett Silvertips announced Monday they have signed forward Brett Kemp to a Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreement.
“Getting Brett signed was a high priority of ours and we’re excited for the potential he has with our club in the future,” Everett general manager Garry Davidson said in a statement released by the team. “He caught our attention as a player who stood out by putting up solid numbers and has continued to make strides in his game.”
Kemp, born in 2000, was selected by the Silvertips with their first pick — a second-round selection (41st overall) — in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. He has scored 41 points in 36 games this season for the Yorkton Maulers of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. The Yorkton, Saskatchewan, native is second on the club in goals (18) and assists (23), and tied for second in power play goals (five).
