TACOMA — A 14-year-old boy charged with driving a car that killed a 10-year-old passenger and injured two other boys during a joyride in Washington state has been sentenced.
The News Tribune reported that the teen pleaded guilty Monday to vehicular homicide and other charges related to the November crash. He was ordered to serve more than three years and up to nine years. Juvenile detention staff will determine how much of that sentence he serves.
The crash killed Dylan Wilson and injured two other boys, ages 14 and 11, when the car hit a pole and a tree in Lakewood.
The children got the keys to a car belonging to the 11-year-old’s mother.
At his sentencing Monday, the teen said he “made a mistake” and “didn’t mean to hurt him.”
