REDMOND — School officials say high schools in Redmond and Kirkland will be closed Friday because of threats.
Lake Washington School District officials said Thursday threatening notes were found in Redmond High School and Juanita High School in Kirkland this week. Both mention Friday, officials said.
Schools superintendent Dr. Traci Pierce says the schools are closing because they haven’t yet determined the credibility of the threats.
Police in Kirkland and Redmond are investigating.
Officials say the students and staff at those schools will make up the missed day at the end of the year.
Officials say no threats were made at other schools and all others in the district will be open Friday.
