Hunters may now purchase an application for a 2016 spring black bear permit, applicable to specific areas of Western and Eastern Washington.
Applications must be submitted to the state Department of Fish and Wildlife by midnight, Feb. 29. Drawings will be held in mid-March for 345 permits in Western Washington and 509 on the eastside. Permit winners will be notified by mail no later than March 31, or applicants can check the results of the drawings at http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting.
