Cheer: Help spread happiness messages
A group of people plan to get together wearing bright yellow shirts to hold up signs for passing motorists, 2:15 to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 at the intersection of Mukilteo Speedway and Paine Field Way.
The Happiness Sprinkling Project started in 2012 at the Anacortes Center for Happiness and has since found its way to many other cities. People share simple, positive messages, such as “It’s Going to be All Right,” “Breathe,” and “You are Loved.”
Anyone can join in the fun for the local event.

Name: New park needs a moniker
The city of Bothell wants ideas to name a small future downtown park near McMenamins Anderson School and south of Pop Keeney Stadium. For now, the park is called the Half-Acre Park because of its size.
Names should be for a neighborhood or geographical feature, a natural or geological feature, historical or cultural significance, or an historical figure or donor or veteran killed in action.
Suggestions are due by Feb. 10 to Parks and Recreation Director John Keates.
