Nestled in picturesque Snohomish County – just a few miles east of Everett – Lake Stevens is a charming city that’s built around a 1,040-acre lake of the same name.

The city boasts a population of just over 30,000, according to a 2015 estimate from the United States Census Bureau, as well as a number of beautiful parks, sports fields and green spaces.

Since 2005, the annexation of previously unincorporated areas near Lake Stevens has more than quadrupled the city’s population. Thanks to an effort called “One Community Around the Lake,” the Lake Stevens city limits now include the areas of Northlake, Frontier Village, Soper Hill and Southwest.

The lake and open areas make Lake Stevens a prime location for outdoor recreation. Open to fishing year round, Lake Stevens is equipped with a boat ramp, parking and restroom facilities – making it a great place to spend the day with friends and family.

The lake features a wide variety of fish species, including kokanee, largemouth and smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, brown bullhead catfish, yellow perch and cutthroat trout.

Residents are allowed to harvest up to 10 kokanee per day, making Lake Stevens a popular spot for hobby fisherman.

The city’s 195 acres of parks and trails give residents and visitors plenty to do. Even canines have a recreational opportunity at Cavalero Park, an off-leash dog park.

Surrounded by mountains, forests and the lake, Lake Stevens is particularly scenic, as is the city’s downtown area, which features an array of shops and restaurants.

The city offers a mix of housing for residents – everything from modern condos in the city center to resident apartments and single-family homes throughout the area.

The city is served by the Lake Stevens School District, which includes six elementary schools, two middle schools, one midhigh school and two high schools.
