Nice lady! New York’s Friars Club, known for its caustic celebrity roasts, honored Jerry Lewis to mark his 90th birthday. Lewis’ fellow comedians saved the barbs for others; the meanest thing insult king Don Rickles could manage was to tell Lewis “to go to bed early.”
Fifty years ago, Lewis would have heckled back: “I might as well; you’re all putting me to sleep.”

What was that about newspapers’ last days? Britain’s Daily Mail media company is making a bid for the troubled U.S. Internet company, Yahoo. Yahoo hasn’t capitalized on online advertising as well as Google and Facebook.
Expect some changes if the deal goes through; the tainted Yahoo name could be retired and replaced with Jolly Good.
