EVERETT — An eight-inch water main in the Boulevard Bluffs neighborhood broke when a contractor working on a stormwater project hit the pipe.
The breakage occurred around noon and happened at 33rd Avenue W and Shore Avenue. Eight residences in the neighborhood lost water service.
City spokeswoman Marla Carter said the pipe was expected to be back in service by 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, after which they would flush out the pipes.
No flooding or property damage was reported, Carter said.
The break did stir up the water, however, and some customers’ tap water might be discolored, Carter said.
If that’s the case, residents can run cold water in the bathtub for 20-30 minutes until it clears.
