Private investors buy AIM Aerospace of Renton

Two private equity firms — Farol Asset Management and Liberty Hall Capital — have teamed up to buy Renton-based AIM Aerospace, a major supplier.

The firms say the deal is worth $220 million. AIM Aerospace was founded in 1988 and has about 1,000 employees in Renton, Auburn and Summer.

AIM Aerospace supplies structural and interior parts for the commercial airplane production chain. AIM supplies parts for Boeing’s 737, 777 and 787 aircraft. It also supplies parts to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Spirit Aerosystems and B/E Aerosopace.
