Whitewall Anniversary Party: Marysville’s Whitewall Brewing will host its second anniversary party from noon to 9 p.m. March 5 at the brewery, 14524 Smokey Point Blvd., Suite 1, Marysville. Whitewall will release five barrel-aged beers to celebrate, including a bourbon barrel-aged version of its Anniversary Ale, an English-style barleywine; a bourbon barrel-aged version of its Jaywalking Grandma, an imperial candy cane milk stout; and an American-style sour ale that has aged two years in a cabernet sauvignon barrel. American Brewing fifth anniversary party: Edmonds’ American Brewing Company will celebrate its fifth anniversary at noon March 5 at the brewery taproom, 180 W. Dayton, Warehouse 2, Edmonds. The event will include special beer releases, food, live music and prizes. American Brewing recently revealed a new brand identity and merchandise with the new logo will be available at the event. American will be pouring a special beer called Liberty Pilsner, a 6-percent ABV pilsner hopped with Liberty hops. According to brewer Adam Frantz, it has the bones of a Czech pilsner yet is brewed with American hops. It has a very hop-forward flavor that showcases the light citrus and spiciness of the hops. The Crush, a cask-version of American’s Fall Fall Harvest Sour conditioned with wine blossom and wine grapes will also be available.
Bourbon &Bacon Fest: The second annual Bourbon &Bacon Fest is March 5 at Seattle Design Center, 5701 Sixth Ave. S, Seattle. The event features bacon-themed recipes from local restaurants and bourbon tastings from local distilleries, including Heritage Distilling Co. There will be two sessions, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 7:30 to 10 p.m. General admission is $70 and includes 13 tastes each of bourbon and bacon. Shamrock Shuffle Wine and Beer Walk: The Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Shamrock Shuffle Wine and Beer Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. March 12 at Country Village, 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway in Bothell. The event includes wine and beer tastings from a range of select Washington wineries and breweries. The event is bring your own glass or glasses can be purchased for $5.
Bacon, Eggs &Kegs: Enjoy local food and beer at the Bacon, Eggs &Kegs 11 a.m. March 13 at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. Enjoy tastes from over 60 breweries and cideries, including Gallagher’s Where-U-Brew and Lazy Boy Brewing. Tickets are $40 and include 12 tasting tokens. Washington Cask Beer Festival: The Washington Brewers Guild will host its 2016 Washington Cask Beer Festival March 19 at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. Sample a wide variety of cask-conditioned beers from more than 40 Washington breweries, including local breweries American Brewing, Beardslee Public House and Diamond Knot Brewing. There will be two sessions: noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. Doors open 15 minutes before each session begins and taps close 30 minutes before it ends. Seattle Scotch &Beer Fest: The Seattle Scotch &Beer Fest is March 25 and 26 at Fremont Studios, 155 N. 35th St., Seattle. Enjoy flights of Scotch, including tastes of Glenlivet and Aberlour, and Northwest whiskey, including tastes from distilleries like Hood River Distillery and Sound Distillery. STEM: Science Uncorked: Enjoy an evening sampling some of Washington’s wines while exploring the science of the vine at 7 p.m. April 22 at Pacific Science Center.
