CAMANO ISLAND — An argument Saturday morning led to one young man’s death and another’s arrest in connection with the fatal stabbing, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office.
The argument turned into a fight and “ended with a stabbing,” leaving Thomas McKnight fatally injured, Sheriff Mark Brown said.
Investigators on Sunday had not confirmed where the 24-year-old victim lived.
The attack happened at a home along Rowe Road on Camano Island. Someone in the house called 911 at about 8:10 a.m. Saturday.
“There was a lot of yelling and screaming on the phone call,” Brown said.
People at the house attempted to resuscitate the victim, but he had died by the time emergency personnel arrived, he said.
Deputies arrested a 19-year-old man and booked him into the county jail for investigation of first-degree manslaughter. The suspect lives at the Rowe Road home, Brown said.
“He’s been cooperative in the investigation,” the sheriff said.
