EVERETT — Hearings are being held a 112-home subdivision proposed for the last large tract of developable land in unincorporated southwest Snohomish County.
More than 100 neighbors and opponents of the Frognal Estates project in the Picnic Point area packed a hearing room Monday night. Forty-one people testified about their concerns.
The chance for public comment is over, but hearings with expert testimony are scheduled to continue Tuesday and Wednesday. After hearings close, examiner Peter Camp has 15 working days to issue a decision. He can approve the project with conditions, order further study, or deny it for failing to comply with county code.
The development, formerly known as Horseman’s Trail, would occupy steep terrain near Picnic Point Elementary School. Opponents have raised concerns about drainage and slope stability, but developer Integral Northwest, of Everett, says its design takes those issues into account.
