SNOHOMISH — The educator who led after a 2014 shooting at Marysville Pilchuck High School left five teenagers dead has withdrawn from the running to be the next superintendent in Snohomish.
Marysville Superintendent Becky Berg was among three finalists for Snohomish’s top educator. Longtime Snohomish Superintendent Bill Mester is retiring in June from his $284,813-a-year job.
Now, Duluth Public Schools Superintendent Bill Gronseth from Minnesota and Helena Schools Superintendent Kent Kultgen from Montana are being considered.
The Snohomish School Board expected to discuss the hiring behind closed doors Tuesday.
