The Snohomish County Department of Public Works advises motorists in the Bothell area of the full road closure on 196th Street SE east of Highway 527.
The closure is scheduled for Monday through Sept. 16.
Coluccio Construction has been granted permission to fully close 0.2 mile of 196th Street, from the highway to 22nd Avenue SE, to install new pipe and connect utilities. It’s a continuation of other nearby work, all tied to the Alderwood Water and Wastewater District’s Olympus Meadows Trunk Sewer project.
Westbound Community Transit buses will be allowed through the project to safely access the signal at Highway 527 and 196th Street to keep bus routes on time.
Westbound local traffic and emergency services will not be allowed to travel through the work zone at any time.
Eastbound local traffic, emergency vehicles and school buses will reroute via 192nd Street SE. Flaggers will assist during peak Northshore School District transportation hours. The main detour route for through traffic is via 180th Street SE and 35th Avenue SE.
