NHL Central Scouting ranked Everett goaltender Carter Hart No. 2 among North American goalies in its final 2016 rankings released Tuesday morning.
It’s a drop of one spot for Hart, who was the top-ranked net minder when the midterm list was released in January. Nevertheless Hart becomes the second Tips goalie to be ranked second joining Leland Irving who held the No. 2 spot in 2006. Irving went on to be drafted No. 26 overall by Calgary in that year’s NHL draft.
Hart, the reigning WHL Goalie of the Week and the Western Conference Goalie of the Year, was 35-23-1-3 with six shutouts, a 2.14 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage in the regular season. The Sherwood Park, Alberta, native missed the first three games of the playoffs due to injury, but is 2-1 with a 1.35 GAA and a .955 save percentage since returning from injury.
Additionally Everett forward Patrick Bajkov is ranked No. 113 among North American skaters. That’s a drop from the No. 71 slot he held in the midterm rankings. Bajkov finished the regular season with 18 goals and 28 assists to go along with a plus-nine rating. He has one goal and three assists so far this year’s postseason.
