New tech coalition aims to help small businesses
The U.S. Small Business Administration and a group of leading technology companies have announced the formation of the Small Business Technology Coalition, a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership that will provide America’s small businesses a streamlined interface to connect to innovative technology platforms as well as digital education and enterprise training. Grant to help youths obtain internships
A new round of funding will help thousands of youth across Washington prepare for meaningful, living-wage careers and the education opportunities necessary to attain them. The YouthWorks grants, totaling nearly $2.2 million, will provide internships and other work-based learning experiences for thousands of youth and help re-engage those who have dropped out or are at-risk of not graduating from high school.
AAA: Cost of owning, operating car drops
Due to falling gas prices, the annual cost to own and operate a vehicle has fallen to a six-year low of $8,558 according to AAA’s 2016 Your Driving Costs study. This year, a driver can expect to spend 57 cents for each mile driven, approximately $713 per month, to cover the fixed and variable costs associated with owning and operating a car.
