It’ll cost you plenty of silver: In what could be the granddaddy of granddad rock concerts, organizers of the Coachella Valley Music &Arts Festival plan to book Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Neil Young and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters for this year’s festival, set for Oct. 7 through 9 at in Indio, California.
If it happens, it will be the biggest gathering of young people to listen to old people since … well, OK, since yesterday’s Bernie Sanders rally.
Suck on it: Parenting adviser John Rosemond says the best way to cure a kid’s thumb-sucking is to send the kid to the smallest room in the house and tell them they can suck their thumb there to their heart’s content.
If there’s no suitable room, the kid could be sent to the garage — but they might bump into Mom or Dad sneaking a cigarette there.
Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1966, “The Sound of Music” won the Oscar for Best Picture.
And even though the giants of granddad rock will be playing down in California, grandmas and grandpas would probably prefer settling in for the annual broadcast of “The Sound of Music” on Channel 5.
