The NCAA on Wednesday announced its list of penalties stemming from consistently low Academic Progress Rate scores.
Those facing Level One sanctions lose four hours and one day of practice time each week during the season, which is intended to be replaced by academic activities. Any team being punished with a Level Two penalty loses four hours and one day of practice each week during the season and out of season, and teams with non-championship seasons, such as spring football, are not allowed to participate in those activities. Teams without non-championship seasons must play fewer contests. Penalties enforced for Level Three violators include all previous penalties and the possibility of additional practice or contest restrictions, recruiting restrictions, restricted access to practice for incoming students who fall below certain academic parameters, multiyear postseason bans and restricted membership.
