This is the second part of an eight-part series examining each position in the NFL draft and what the Seattle Seahawks’ needs are at those positions. The players listed are the top prospects in the draft at their positions, with their college, height and weight provided:
RUNNING BACKS
1. Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State, 6-0, 225
2. Derrick Henry, Alabama, 6-3, 247
3. Devontae Booker, Utah, 5-11, 219
4. Kenneth Dixon, Louisiana Tech, 5-10, 215
5. C.J. Prosise, Notre Dame, 6-0, 220
FULLBACKS
1. Glenn Gronkowski, Kansas State, 6-2, 239
2. Dan Vitale, Northwestern, 6-1, 239
3. Derek Watt, Wisconsin, 6-2, 235
Seahawks’ situation: Despite the retirement of Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawks are in good position at running back. Thomas Rawls showed last season he’s capable of being the No. 1, and he’s expected to be 100 percent by the start of the season following his season-ending ankle injury. Seattle also re-signed Christine Michael, who looked better his second time around with the Seahawks. Seattle could still use a third-down back, having not re-signed Fred Jackson, and the Seahawks currently have no fullbacks on the roster. Therefore, look for Seattle to address both those positions later in the draft or via rookie free agents.
