I read with interest the Guest Commentary of Carol Whitney regarding rebuilding a new cafeteria for the Marysville/Pilchuck High School. (April 16, “New high school cafeteria best choice for Marysville Pilchuck students.”)
I am in agreement with the reasons she set forth. I also believe there needs to be a new beginning for the children that attend MPS.
Not one of us adults can understand or know what our children/grandchildren or the students at MPS felt or had to go through during this horrific time.
One of those kids involved did let us know through his letter to the editor recently where he stated he wanted a new cafeteria as this was needed for those who attend MPS and I am proud of him for letting the public know about his feelings.
As a Tulalip tribal elder I know this affected our entire Tribe, as when incidents like this happen we all suffer and never get over the tragedy.
It is our children we should be considering not the monetary issue.
