In January, our friend Richard Meury was in hospice for cancer. (Julie Muhlstein column, “A Mukilteo man’s dying wish will warm up some homeless folks.”) Richard had tears streaming down his face as he watched KING-5 news as they played the filming of thermals being handed out to the homeless. Richard’s dying wish was fulfilled and he passed away Jan. 31. Since that time, we have received more donations that allowed us to purchase more clothing items.
With the additional donations we went to Whistle Workwear in Everett. They provided us with significant discounts that allowed us to purchase hoodies, T shirts and socks for the homeless. Richard would really appreciate this act of kindness. Thank you to the management at Whistle Workwear for being so generous.
