Regarding the letter, “Still don’t trust administration”: I have been impressed with the amount of useful information I have seen both in print and online regarding the Everett School District’s bond and levy measures. Still, sometimes the important facts can fall through the cracks. So when the letter writer asked to see more detail for where the dollars are going, I hopped on my computer, headed over to imvotingyes.com, and was able to find a chart that spells out exactly what expected costs for each project would be. Fantastic! I learned the difference between a bond and levy and why we need both for our students to be safe and successful. I learned that we already own property for another school to be built on. I saw what careful stewards of our dollars this administration is striving to be.
Although I don’t share the letter writer’s mistrust of the current administration, I can relate to feeling unsure whom I can trust with my hard-earned dollars. I would encourage the writer to take note of the hundreds of community leaders and PTAs that are in favor of both the bond and levy measures passing. It is a mighty long list of your neighbors and community leaders saying, “I’m voting yes for students.”
