Marysville School District built a new high school which was completed in August 2010. No one seems to be talking about it though. This citadel of experimental design and open concept is the Marysville Getchell High School or the Academy of Construction and Engineering High School (ACE).
The point I’m making concerns the cost of $100 million. The following website: tinyurl.com/EdDesignMGHS has photos as well as the financial details. The cost given on the site shows a cost of $85 million but doesn’t include traffic revision of Getchell Road (84th Avenue) and the athletic field. The cost is now $100 million or more. They plan to build a stadium later.
This is just one school. Marysville wants to build five new ones at the same time. If we give them $230 million dollars to do this with they will end up hanging all of us with it.
