The April 14 letter criticizing the use of the word “broad” as “antiquated, derogatory, descriptive language” regarding women reminded me of a quote attributed to the actress Bette Davis: “A woman may choose to be either a lady or a broad — I am a broad.” I believe the reference was to writing the menu, rather than being on it.
